  • I'm From Mexico City, Mexico

    by Victor Hoyos

I remember I was around 16. One day, I was with my entire family eating dinner. My parents, my brother, my aunts, uncles, everyone was there. Suddenly homosexuality came up to the table conversation. I can’t recall why, but I can recall this one comment an uncle said to everybody: “Thank God there’s not one fag in our family.”

The only thing I could think of was: “Prepare, bitches.”

I came out a month later.
